Yesterday Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the U.S. I must say it was pretty awe inspiring to witness the event. While I supported Obama throughout the primary and electoral campaigns, I found myself caught up more than I expected in the emotion of electing the first African-American president. Having attended the U. of Chicago where he taught constitutional law, I had a special sense of connection. And, of course, he was our senator from Illinois after that as well. Smart, competent, cool, and with a vision for a less confrontational approach, I expect great things from the Obama administration. Here's hoping!
